Carole Waller handpainted grey and pink spun silk shawl – ‘Glider’ is one of a series of pieces inspired by watching paragliders launch and float over the English landscape from the top of the Malvern Hills so beloved of Elgar, Tolkien, George Bernard Shaw – and hundreds of hill walkers including my parents, Irene and Geoffrey Waller, who lived there for thirty years..

This is a handpainted luxurious spun silk scarf painted in soft creams, greys, pinks, red and pale gold.
